Bus operator Terence Layne has served his city for nearly 21 years — driving New Yorkers through September 11, Superstorm Sandy and now the coronavirus pandemic. He tells Lester Holt how he feels fulfilled helping others, but worries about getting infected.

  4. Bus Drivers, L Conductors, Train Engineer, Ubbers, Lyfts, Pilots, are heroes and can stand in the same line as my First Responders, and Medical Professions. Did I leave anyone out? Thank God for you all.

  5. Much love and respect to the men and women who provide the essential needs for their city. Praying that God continues to cover them.

  6. Good to see more workers getting the recognition they deserve for continuing to work during this time. Just wish more of us could still have our jobs instead of waiting and going broke.

  8. I know of incidents where these drivers were assaulted … a couple of times people would spit on them … now with covid19 the change will be attempted Murder…
